How do I go about requesting a Union withdrawal card?

A withdrawal card is issued to a Teamster members who've been laid off, on leave of absence, lengthy medical leave, or terminating your employment.

When you are on withdrawal, you are considered to have an “inactive” status, and are therefore ineligible to exercise the rights of union membership, such as voting in elections or on contracts. You may request a withdrawal card by calling the Union hall office at (732) 297-2701 or click below to download and print the form.

It is your responsibility to obtain a Withdrawal Card in a timely manner or you will be responsible for all the union fees that are due.  Failure to request a Withdrawal Card may obligate you to pay back dues and a re-initiation fee. It is also your responsibility to inform  your employer to restart your dues check–off when you return to work at a Teamsters Union craft. When you  return to work at a Teamsters Union craft, you will not be charged any new initiation fees if you received a Withdrawal Card.
